Welcome to Class 2!

 

Our teachers are:

Due to Mass, no Star of the week certificates were awarded this week.

 

However, the whole class were very interested in our Other Faiths RE work, finding out about Judaism. PE

We currently do PE on a Tuesday afternoon and a Wednesday morning. Please ensure your child's full PE kit is in school, named, on a Tuesday morning ready. Your child will then go home in their PE kit on a Tuesday and will need to return to school on the Wednesday in this kit with their school uniform in their PE kit bags ready to get changed back into. 

 

Drinks

Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school every day for break and lunch times. An additional drink such as squash can be brought in for lunchtime. 

 

This half term we will be learning about:

- Fiction - Stories with a familiar setting - the text will be 'A Lion in the Meadow'

- Place Value - counting objects to 100, representing numbers to 100, tens and ones, ordering and comparing numbers, counting in 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s

- Addition & Subtraction 

-Art- based on 'The dot' - creating imaginative paintings

- ICT - using Bee Bots to create an algorithm to solve a problem

 

Topic

Our Topic this half term is Our School & Where we Live. We are learning about the geography of our school and using fieldwork technique to find out about our local area. We will be learning some things about Ipswich and locating Ipswich and Suffolk on a map of Britain. We will also be learning how to describe what the following are like: coast, cliff, ocean, valley, vegetation, city, factory, office, port and harbour. Some of these are even our table names for this term! We will finally be learning about the capital cities of the 4 countries of the United Kingdom and locating these on a map.
